Under
the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahyan, the Minister of
Culture, Youth and Community Development, SmallWorld the international
charity organization welcomed with great pleasure, the Mega Star Ricky
Martin, not as a performer, not as a tourist, but rather as a
philanthropist to support the internationally renowned charity
organization ‘SmallWorld’ in its fight against child slavery worldwide.
Ricky Martin dedicated his life to save children from trafficking and
who created his own institution called Ricky Martin Foundation. It’s
with great honor that SmallWorld announces Ricky Martin as their
Ambassador for the year 2013.
During the two ‘star-studded’
nights (SmallWorld Gala dinner on November 29th and SmallWorld Event on
November 30th, 2013) funds were raised to educate children in more than
15 countries worldwide. Under the slogan “Liberate and Educate”. The
patron of Small World H.E. Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahyan, the Minister
of Culture, Youth and Community Development, along with Mrs. Salam
Hamzeh Ghaith, the founder & President of SmallWorld, recognized
Ricky Martin’s initiative and support by providing him with an on-stage
award as the SmallWorld Ambassador for 2013. Additionally, appreciation
awards were given out to those whose effort added a remarkable value to
the event.
During the first night, the Gala dinner hosted more
than 500 people, who were taken to a place of endless glamour and
elegance. The second night was the SmallWorld Grand event; this night
was like the two previous events of 2012 and 2011 and was attended by
more than 1,000 guests that had an unmatched level of energy and
excitement.

Airways and GASCO, who made this event possible, where present at the
event to support a cause they believe in.
Although SmallWorld
takes place in Abu Dhabi – UAE, SmallWorld’s influence has reached the
Middle East, Far East, Europe, South & North Americas and Africa by
collaborating and working closely with different charities, sponsors,
donors and media from around the world.
SmallWorld 2011 has
helped 28 different children charities worldwide. SmallWorld 2012 helped
educate more than 600 children in more than 17 countries. SmallWorld
2013 will reach to educate more than 300 children Syrian refugees in
Lebanon and many more children worldwide.
