The 18th Meeting of Public Ciphering Keys for E-passports, held at The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, concluded its activities on Thursday afternoon.
Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police honored the member countries participating in the meeting.
In its second day sessions, the meeting completed discussing the topics on the agenda. Captain Hamid Obeid Al Zaabi, Chief of Information Security and Telecommunications Section at the Ministry of Interior gave an overview of the UAE’s experience in activating the National Public Ciphering Keys (NPKD) project and operating it across the country’s various ports.
Participants praised this outstanding experience, which underscores the UAE's keenness to implement this project at ports at the countrywide level.
Concluding, delegates of the states participating in the meeting showcased their technical experiences, and discussed ways to avoid obstacles associated with this project as well as the appropriate solutions, so as to raise the level of security of all travel documents, and prevent passport forgery crimes.
