Saif Bin Zayed: Our country is Keen to Maintain the Present and Promote Future Leadership

Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif  bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior underscored the commitment of the country’s leadership, headed by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to maintain the UAE’s ongoing endeavor to preserve its prominent position on the international scene. This would strengthen the country’s present status and ensure its leadership into the future, in line with the Expo 2020 theme “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”. It also reflects the tireless efforts exerted by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai in this regard.

His Highness made these remarks on Wednesday while touring the 33rd edition of GITEX 2013 at Dubai World Trade Center. In his tour, His Highness overviewed the Exhibition’s various halls and pavilions, where he got acquainted with the latest offerings provided by the various participating entities in the field of technology and e-services produced worldwide.

His Highness expressed his admiration for the level of modernity, organization and readiness, which reflect the capabilities and uniqueness of the UAE, as well as the skills of its citizens in organizing regional and international exhibitions. “This makes the UAE the most qualified country to host the renowned international event ‘Expo 2020’ and other international events, regardless of their size and importance,” he noted.

His highness was also briefed on the latest programs and services on display at the Exhibition. He exchanged talks with exhibitors and reviewed their impressions with respect to the exhibition, which succeeded in consolidating its position on the international exhibitions landscape. HH commended the exhibition, which achieved a good reputation for the UAE and became the preferred platform for local government entities and international companies participating in the exhibition.

Moreover, His Highness reiterated the UAE’s diligent endeavor to become one of the leading countries in the world to leverage smart technology to provide services to the public. “All federal ministries and departments are exerting significant efforts to achieve the vision envisaged by HH, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and ruler of Dubai, to achieve a total transformation towards smart services,” noted His Highness.

Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Major General Khalil DawoodBadran, Director General of Finance and Services; Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of  Central Operations; Brigadier General Juma Hamel Al Qubaisi, Head of Transport and Workshops Department; Colonel Sheikh Mohammad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director of Peripheral Regions Directorate; and Colonel Saud Al Saadi, Director of the Secretariat of the Office of His Highness the Minister; as well as a number of police officers accompanied His Highness during the tour.
