Minister of Justice and ADEC Director General Register in the E-Ports Project

Touring the MoI’s Pavilion at GITEX

While touring the Ministry of Interior’s pavilion at GITEX 2013, Dr Hadef Jua'an Al Daher, UAE Minister of Justice, and Mugheer Al Khaili, Abu Dhabi Education Council Director General commended the advanced security systems, modern techniques and smart initiatives and services provided by the ministry at the exhibition.
During their inspection visit, Al Daher and Al Khaili were greeted by Colonel Faisal Mohammed Al Shammari, supervisor of the Ministry of Interior’s pavilion. Al Shammari gave them a brief overview of the latest programs and services offered by the ministry during GITEX.
Moreover, Dr Hadef Jua'an Al Daher and Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili both registered in the E-Ports Project implemented by the ministry.
Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili emphasized that the Ministry of Interior has made significant strides of excellence in providing services to members of the public, and interacting with them through its various community-based initiatives.
The Ministry of Interior had also acquainted visitors of the GITEX 2013, which concluded on Thursday, with its modern state-of-the-art E-Ports Project. The project ensures the speedy processing of passenger entry and exit through Passport Control & Immigration counters through the country’s ports within just 15 seconds. Visitors were also introduced to the necessary procedures required for registration in the E-Gates (E-Ports Project).
Major Mohammad Ahmad Al Za’abi, Director of the E-Ports Project indicated that the enrolment process is free of charge and takes no longer than 20 seconds. It includes GCC nationals, expatriate residents and those who have obtained a visa to enter the UAE. “In order to register in the project, applicants are required to bring their original passport,” Al Zaabi stated.
He reiterated that the E-gate service aims at simplifying travel for all, and allows registration and entry or exit of children from the age of 5 years and above. It is also easy-to-use for people with disabilities.
Major Al Zaabi added that the media campaign that is overseen by the Abu Dhabi Police, represented by the General Department of Central Operations, in coordination with the Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, is ongoing.
“The Abu Dhabi Police has provided public awareness through social media sites and giant e-screens since the opening of the registration process in Abu Dhabi, in addition to publishing material in the media,” he continued.
Moreover, the Abu Dhabi Police has allocated the toll free number 8005000 to communicate with the public, in addition to its pages on the various social networking sites to answer the public’s questions and inquiries with respect to the registration process.
