CSR at ARA Research & Consultancy targets children’s creative and artistic development

ARA Research & Consultancy, a specialized market research and consultancy firm, launched a CSR program to target children’s creative and artistic development by funding the ARA 2011 Calendar in association with the Lebanese Non Governmental Organization, Ibrik El Zeit Atelier.

The ARA Calendar 2011 contains colorful and joyful drawings made by Lebanese children, aged between 7 and 14 years old, living in Aytaroun Village, Tripoli City, Bente Jbail Town, Aita El-Cheab Village and Beirut City. The goal of this project is to let the children, coming from less fortunate areas, express themselves through painting and drawing, discover their artistic and cultural interests, develop a cooperative spirit, increase social integration and to confront the violence of war and roughness of their society. All the activities are carried on under the close supervision of psychologists and teachers.

Ibrik el Zeit Atelier was founded in Beirut. The atelier won a certificate of appreciation from the UNDP in 2000 for the play ”Tales of Ibrik el Zeit: we are the colours” and in 2009 it received an award from UNESCO for the initiative of creating continuous learning. Among other projects: “A Story and a drawing” at Dubai summer surprises festival DSS and “Children’s Creativity Through Stories” to address children in schools through Lebanese as well as Palestinian associations to write stories expressing their rights based on some pictures drawn by other children. A book entitled “Noor - Children’s Creativity Through Stories” resulted from this project and was launched at UNESCO Palace, accompanied by an exhibition and a puppet making workshop.
