Jebel Ali Port Sets New Productivity Record Delivering 259 Berth Moves Per Hour


11,722 TEUs in 28 hours handled by DP World, UAE Region’s men and machines combined while servicing MSC Madeleine

DP World, UAE Region has achieved a new vessel productivity benchmark when its state-of-the-art cranes hit a record of 259 berth moves per hour while servicing the container liner MSC Madeleine at its flagship Jebel Ali Portin Dubairecently.

Concerted team effort and the port’s signature operational efficiencies ensured that 11,722 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent container units), were handled within 28 working hours, beating previous productivity benchmarks.

The record set during the recent port call of the 349-metre long MSC Madeleine highlights DP World, UAE Region’s leading position as the most efficient marine terminal operator in the Middle East with a focus on constantly improving quay crane rates, which deliver direct benefits to thecustomers in terms of time and cost saved.

Earlier this year Jebel Ali became one of the world’s first major container terminals to integrate, through the ROSTIMA LMS system, an all-inclusive manpower management system with the high-end technology that runs its operations.
