Bassel Sabri Joins Alhurra’s Al Youm

Egyptian anchor Bassel Sabri joins Alhurra’s Al Youmon Sunday, Sept. 18th. He will co-anchor the magazine program with Engy Anwar from Al Youm’s main studios in Dubai.

Sabri has an extensive journalism background, most notably working for seven years as the editor-in-chief and news anchor for the English-language programs and newscasts on Nile TV International. Within that position, he hosted a variety of political, cultural and social programs including the weekly economic program Mondays. In addition to his duties at Nile TV, Sabri anchored and served as editor of Egyptian TV Channel 1’s primetime newscast The 9 O’Clock News in Arabic from 2008-2011. Prior to joining Alhurra, he was the host of Masr Ennaharda (Egypt Today) on Egypt Channel 1 and the El Masreya satellite channel.
