The Ministry of Interior launched a media campaign under the slogan "My job is a trust" across all government and private sectors. The campaign aims to enhance positive professional values in society, notably preserving public money; refraining from making illicit gains from the job; avoiding abuse of position or power for personal gains; not favoring someone or an organization at the expense of others; and applying rules and legislations without slackness. The campaign is designed to emphasize the role of members of the public in cooperating with the relevant police sectors to report any incorrect behaviors that may have a detrimental effect on society.

Lt. Colonel Matar Mu'ded Al Muhairi, Head of the Anti-Corruption Department at Abu Dhabi Police, said that the UAE community has been able to promote integrity and transparency, which contributed to upgrading work processes to the highest levels, and allowed the UAE to compete with its counterparts in the various economic, social and policing development fields.

He said: “The UAE government has established the appropriate mechanisms to curb and prevent any offenses that might undermine public office, in order to preserve the safety and integrity of the administrative body and the public interest. These mechanisms are also designed to maintain an ethical work environment, which upholds integrity, transparency, efficiency and equal opportunities; an environment that recognizes innovators and honest staff members and elevates them to the highest ranks.”

Lt. Colonel Al Muhairi also stressed the importance of concerted efforts and cooperation of members of the public to maintain and reinforce this civilized aspect of our community by communicating with the "Aman” Service. “This service allows the public to report any crime or suspicion, or to submit any information that would serve to reinforce security efforts, by phone, text message or the internet, and provides the highest levels of confidentiality and privacy to community members,” he noted.

Lt. Colonel Al Muhairi reiterated the Abu Dhabi Police’s commitment, as per the police leadership’s directives, to honor honest and dedicated staff members, who carry out their work duties in all integrity and honesty and endeavor to protect and strengthen the security and safety process. “The police leadership also seeks to recognize the efforts of community members who cooperate with the police, in inculcating the values of integrity and honesty in our community,” he added.

“As a part of the media campaign, a number of activities and programs will be organized and will include several events to highlight the many types of cooperation with the police and promote positive values and behaviors in our society,” he noted. He also praised the valuable and instrumental role of the media in this aspect, as well as the role of social networking sites, which have become an important tool to involve the public and promote positive values.

In conclusion, Lt. Colonel Al Muhairi pointed out that the "Aman" service receives confidential information regarding security and social issues round-the-clock in Arabic, English and Urdu. “To do so, they can dial the toll-free number, 8002626, send an SMS to 2828, or send an e-mail to Aman on www.aman.gov.ae” he said.
