Lt.
General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and
Minister of Interior asserted his confidence in the innovative
capabilities of the UAE youth that support the march of development and
openness witnessed in the country. He also indicated that the UAE rarely
lives days that don’t see purposeful cultural events or continual
civilized achievements.
During his tour in Abu Dhabi Book Fair
this afternoon, Sunday, HH Sheikh Saif called for continuing the work
and participating effectively in spreading and exchanging the different
experiences and experiments. HH Sheikh Saif also stressed on exchanging
knowledge among all generations and nations to foster the spirit of
brotherhood and peace.
Furthermore, HH Sheikh Saif expressed his
happiness about the diversity he has seen in the fields of knowledge,
science and literature. He also commended the great participation of the
national youth, various national institutions and major Arab and
international publishers, in addition to the pavilions that are rich
with modern publications. HH noted that this is an indicator of the
UAE’s important status in terms of freedom of thought and publication,
and that it also reflects the commitment to enlighten the people thanks
to the most enlightened and distinguished leadership of the UAE.

Sheikh Saif toured the Exhibition accompanied by Lt. General Saif
Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior; Major
General Khamis Matar Al Muzainah, Commander General of the Dubai Police;
Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and
Services at Abu Dhabi Police; Dr. Amal Al Qubaisi, Abu Dhabi Education
Council Director General and council member at the Executive Council of
Abu Dhabi; and Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, ADEC's Executive Director of
School Operations. Additionally, HH Sheikh Saif exchanged short talks
with a number of exhibitors and publishing houses owners. He also
examined a unique Braille printing machine that is specifically designed
for blind people in “Abu Dhabi Reads” Pavilion.
In addition to
that, HH Sheikh Saif witnessed the signing of 15 books separately. The
books are the product of a number of police officers and civilian
authors and writers as well. The list of authors and their books
included: Major General Nasser Salim Saif Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi
(Management of Change from Operational Perspectives/Part 3); Dr. Ali Al
Khouri (Critical Views of Leadership from a Governmental Perspective);
Dr. Rashid Al Mazroui (Four Poetry Collections); Colonel Eid Mohammed

Services); Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Rashid Khalfan bin Amer Al Thokhri
(Leadership Competencies, and Institutional Development); Major Dr. Omar
Ibrahim Al Ali (Personality and Professional Behavior); Major Dr. Ali
Abdullah bin Dha’ain Al Ghafali (Institutional Change Strategy); Sultan
Al Omaimi (P.O Box 1003) novel; Abdullah Abdurrahman (A Translated
Collection Rich with Traditional Photos from the Previous Issues of the
Author- the UAE, in the Memory of its People), Sheikha Al Mutairi (A

Policy Role in the Regional Forums); Captain Basheer Al Balbisi and
Lieutenant Salim Hassan (University Students Approaches Towards Law in
Abu Dhabi); and Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Nawal Al Kuthiri, Dr. Ibrahim
Wasfi and Asmaa Kamel (Creating a Fast Inspection Method for Synthetic
Cannabis).
Furthermore, HH Sheikh Saif gave directions to buy lot
of publications for the Punitive and Correctional Establishments, in
order to enable the inmates to read and build their knowledge, as well
as furnishing the Centers for the Rehabilitation and Employment of
People with Special Needs at the Ministry of Interior with such
editions. The orders of HH Sheikh Saif also target the libraries at the
police departments and sections.
Boxed Text: Sheikh Saif Receives a Presentation from the Youngest Emirati Author
Abdullah
Hussein Al Ahbabi, 7 years old, presented his first publication titled
“The Giraffe and the Pigeon” to Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al
Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. Al Ahbabi is the
youngest person to join the Emirati authors’ league.
Al Ahbabi
expressed his happiness to meet HH Sheikh Saif and hand him his first
issue. The book is a comic tale that promotes solidarity and love as it
features the sacrifices of a mother for her children in a small,
colorful world of domestic animals.
The young author said: “My
parents contributed to my love towards Arabic language as they provided
me with books and suitable environment to excel at school. I received an
excellent degree in Arabic. I always take part at the school radio and
the National Day celebrations via speeches and poems, expressing my
feelings and love to my homeland.”
“My mother, who works at the
school, played a significant role in directing me towards writing and
painting. The same goes for my uncle who owns a publishing house. He
printed my book when he discovered my talent in writing and painting,”
