Al Khaja also lauded their continuous efforts throughout the run-up to the prize that contributed to the outstanding level achieved by the “Security Media” in winning this unique award. He said that this award engraves this achievement in the history of the distinguished government performance march. Moreover, he highlighted the role and cooperation of all staff members in providing evidences that is one of the main criteria for winning the award. The Deputy Director of the Security Media Department praised the support of the leadership to the Security Media at all levels through direct care or ongoing follow-up, and through providing outstanding media human resources and advanced technologies in the areas of production and media monitoring.
The Deputy Director of the Security Media Department indicated that the Department adopts a concept based on the fact that “information in its various forms is the most important element in media industry;” therefor channels are used to ensure quick and easy access of information to stakeholders around the clock according to a tuned mechanism. “These channels are reviewed constantly to ensure the availability of this necessary matter,” added A Khaja.
“The advanced tools and expertise are one of the most important pillars of a successful media work generally, and this is what we do constantly. We have introduced many new tools and methods to collect and transfer information, such as the security media patrols and other developmental actions, in addition to keeping up with events and delivering the message to its recipients immediately and accurately,” noted Al Khaja.
He also said that any governmental or non-governmental organization must always keep pace with the developments and changes taking place. “The Security Media is concerned with making comparisons with distinguished institutions in areas of media work. It also conducts opinion polls to assess the opinion of partners and customers. This is used in improving our performance by learning from our counterparts, making use of others’ opinions, and continuously reviewing the experiences and practices of outstanding and leading entities in the field of Government Communication in the UAE and abroad,” he said.
Al Khajah added: “The improvement in the media production process inputs alone would be useless without identifying the targeted segment of our message. This can be achieved by conducting specialized studies. The most recent was an extensive study to identify recipients and those interested in our work, and then we moved to the most important phase which is the formulation of suitable forms of appropriate messages to our audience to ensure the public’s interaction with what we publish and broadcast daily across various media”.
Adding further, he stated:” Any media organization must know that the public’s taste has changed due to the major progress and development of social media networks. Therefore, we had to keep up with this progress by dealing with the latest developments, adopting and taking advantage of new methods in achieving the maximum possible and effective communication with the public. This should be accomplished taking into consideration the social and cultural diversity in our society, and addressing various categories by the appropriate language and means at the proper time, while targeting multicultural communities in the UAE.”
He added: “The documentation is as important as production in the media business, and even if it is seen by some people as the last stage, it is actually considered the first stage and the raw material for any documented and complete media work. Thus, the Security Media considers documenting all pictorial, written, and televised material as a very important process.”
He continued: “The media sector is witnessing daily developments and trends. We, in the capacity of media institutions, have to ensure continuous interaction and communication. Therefore, we are in urgent and continuous need of periodical evaluation and measurement processes for what we provide to the public in order to come up with solutions to develop and improve our outputs. Perhaps the most important thing that we have benefited from in the Security Media is our participation in domestic and international awards and competitions where we have found many improvement opportunities. Then, we conducted corrective procedures which were manifested in achieving continuous development not only at the level of operations, but also in view of the development of the Security Media’s organizational structure, while keeping pace with the rapid developments in the area of media work.”
At the end of the ceremony, heads of departments and representatives of the government communication team at the Security Media Department congratulated each other for achieving this excellence that reflects the police leadership’s directives and comes in line with the Ministry of Interior’s vision to achieve excellence and leadership as per international best advanced standards.
