Major
General Staff Dr. Obeid Al Ketbi, Chairman of the International
Conference for Security and National Resilience (ISNR) Higher Organizing
Committee said that the value of the deals announced during ISNR Abu
Dhabi 2014 amounted to AED1 billion.
Al Ketbi highlighted the
success of the 6th edition of ISNR noting that the event witnessed great
attendance from all nationalities and ages, where more than 17,000
local and international visitors and participants attended.
“More
than 30 agreements and contracts were signed between local and
international companies. 16,000 people from 87 countries visited the
exhibition marking a 74% increase compared to 2012, and the visitors
included 1048 students from across the UAE. 450 exhibiting companies
from 40 countries participated this year; recording an increase of 154%
compared to 2012. The total space was 38,000 square meters (26,000
square meters designated for the exhibition and 12,000 square meters for
other activities and demonstrations). The total space, which was
designated for exhibitors reached 12,646 square meters; an increase of
58% compared to 2012,” Al Ketbi said.
He added: “the event
attracted 196 reporters from local, regional and international media
outlets. More than 7,000 people attended the ‘Aftershock’ live
demonstration on responding to crises and emergencies, which was
described by international experts and decision makers as an exceptional
demonstration that was unmatched across the world in similar events.”
More
than 500 business meetings, involving 80 governmental buyers and
exhibitors, were arranged during the exhibition. 1,300 cadets from UAE
police academies colleges attended the ISNR, while international
visitors reached 1,400 people from 86 countries. New pavilions for
Germany, France and Britain were added to the event this year. Three
international conferences attracting more than 1,300 people and hosting
more than 60 international speakers were held. Furthermore, the event
hosted 15 workshops on occupational safety involving 1,000 people, in
addition to the UAE International Firefighter Challenge where 170
contesters from 13 countries joined, including eight Emirati female
contesters for the first time.
Al Ketbi commended the efforts
made by exhibitors to enrich this event with new products, equipment and
devices. He also praised the speakers at the conference, saying that
their discussions had a significant scientific impact and gave good
results. Al Ketbi extended his wishes of good luck to everyone, hoping
to see them again at the 7th edition of ISNR in 2016.
The ISNR
Abu Dhabi 2014 included eight activities (three international
specialized exhibitions; three international conferences; an
international live demonstration; and an international firefighter
challenge). These activities included the 6th ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014; the
International Conference on Security Challenges (ICSC); the “Aftershock”
live demonstration on responding to crises and emergencies; the 1st
Fire & Emergency Middle East (FEME); the 1st UAE International
Firefighter Challenge; the 1st Occupational Safety and Health Middle
East (OSH ME); and the 5th International Cyber Crimes Conference.
