Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Monday, April 28th 2014 [ME NewsWire]
The Directorate General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi participated in the International Earth Day celebrations. This awareness participation reflects the Directorate’s endeavor to enhance awareness about the importance of preserving the environment, and establish modern concepts related to adopting the best practices that prevent pollution factors and wrongdoing to environmental elements.
Colonel Salim Ali Al Qattam Al Zaabi, Director General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi, along with a number of officers, officials and participants joined forces together at Abu Dhabi coasts to help clean the beaches from harmful wastes.
It is worth noting that the Earth Day event aims to spread awareness and increase the attention given to the natural environment. Many countries around the world celebrate this day on the 22nd of April each year. The first celebration of the event was back in 1970 when it helped developing modern work systems to preserve the environment and its sustainability for the coming generations.
