Megastar Mammootty’s new movie ‘Street Lights’ released in the UAE, and the evening of the premier was full of entertainment for the massive crowd. Fans enjoyed interacting with with the legendary actor as well as his co-stars Soubin Shahir, Sohan Seenu Lal, Rajashekar & Director Shamdat, in Abu Dhabi’s Favorite Mall, Dalma Mall.
Over 25,000 Mammootty fans, or Mammookka as he is commonly addressed, flocked from across the region and neighboring Emirates to the capital from 4:30pm till 9pm, occupying every inch of the mall’s space. Groups were especially large near the entrance, atrium and the galleries across Dalma Mall’s first and second levels.
Mammooty was welcomed with a red carpet, tradional Chenda Melam, followed by an on-stage welcome address by Mr. Bhupinder Singh – General Manager & CFO of Dalma Mall and felicitations from Cine Royal Team. Loud chants echoed in Malayalam as the star walked the red carpet to the stage “Mammooka, Mammooka, amude swantham Mammookka” (meaning Mammookka, Mammookka, our dear and own Mammookka). Overwhelmed with joy and gratitude for the warm welcome, Mammooty stated to the crowd that this was the largest audience he’s ever addressed in his 36-year-long cinema career.
The amazing celebrity-filled evening was hosted and sponsored by Dalma Mall in partnership with Cine Royal Cinema. Dalma Mall collaborated with radio road shows from the radio partners – 101.3 Gold FM and Asianet Radio. The audience not only enjoyed the evening with the star but also enjoyed the Bollywood dance entertainment and competitions where participants got an opportunity to win the prize of a special screening of Street Lights with the Mammootty himself with his crew. The audience won over 290 complimentary couple tickets as well Dalma Mall gift vouchers as online and on-air contests took place in promotion of the event.
2017 was a fantastic year for Mammooty, with Street Lights already set to be his second release in 2018 cinemas across the UAE and GCC by Phars Film, with more films on the way.
This exciting appearance follows another recent celebrity-filled event at Dalma Mall, an up-and-coming entertainment destination in addition to its exceptional shopping atmosphere. Dalma Mall looks forward to bringing even more celebrities for different events and occasions in the future.
