The
Complaints and Suggestions Department at the Ministry of Interior’s
Strategy and Performance Development General Directorate recently
organized a training workshop on the complaints and proposals system in
the civil defense sector. The workshop, which was held at the Abu Dhabi
Police Officers Club, aims to improve the quality of services and
develop performance in the sector.
Captain Yasser Al Rai Al
Shamesi, Chief of the Complaints Section at the Complaints and
Suggestions Department, noted that the department is implementing the
e-complaints and suggestions system portal for the UAE Government’s in
coordination with the Council of Ministers’ General Secretariat.
“Pursuant
to the ministerial resolution No. 319 for the year 2011, on
establishing a unified mechanism to receive customer complaints and
views at the Ministry of Interior through an electronic channel on the
website www.fms.ae; the site was linked to the web pages of the MoI’s
various sectors and units across the country. This measure aims to
collect complaints, proposals and feedback from customers, in line with
the police leadership’s vision and instructions to communicate with the
public, gain their confidence, and encourage them to engage in
enhancing the security and safety process in the State,” said Captain Al
Shamesi.
For her part, First Lt. Fatima Ghanem Al Shamesi, Chief
of the Proposals Section at the Complaints and Suggestions Department,
reviewed a number of issues namely; the proposals, creativity, and
innovation methodology; proposals’ status and classification details;
performance indicators; and proposals assessment. She also tackled the
impact of implementing proposals and honoring proposals’ submitters on
upgrading the performance standards in the Civil Defense Sector.
Additionally, she highlighted the most important observations of the
previous assessment and honoring stage (2012).
At the end of the
workshop, participants agreed on a number of recommendations notably;
implementing the approved mechanism to assess each stage; activating the
“Proposal of the Year” award category as part of the Commander-in-Chief
Award and the “Concerned Entities” award (customers, partners,
suppliers, and community members); and finally, respecting the specified
time limit to respond to proposals and communicate with their
submitters.
