Naturalization and Residency’s Convoy Starts its Tour to Celebrate National Day


ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, November 26th 2013 [ME NewsWire]

To mark the 42nd UAE National Day, the December 2nd Convoy, organized by the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Sector at the Ministry of Interior started its tour this morning in front of the Directorate General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Headquarters in Fujairah.

The event was attended by Brigadier Mubarak Rabi bin Sinan, Director General of the Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Fujairah, along with a number of officials at the Emirate’s departments and institutions, and officers and employees of the Directorate General. The convoy included a number of vehicles belonging to the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Sector, bearing the Ministry of Interior’s logo along with the logo of the community services provided by the sector, such as the Amer service.

On the side lines of the convoy, numerous activities were organized including a traditional Souq (market) supervised by the Hawa (Eve) Committee at the Directorate General where many families participated. The traditional Souq presented local dishes to the visitors. Additionally, the activities included a parade that travelled through the streets of the Emirates and included the police music band, the cavalry, the Fujairah Scout Legation, and the Fujairah Traffic Police. 

Brigadier Mubarak Rabi bin Sinan, Director General of the Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Fujairah said: “The Naturalization, Residency and Ports Sector has been committed to preparing the agenda of activities for the 42nd UAE National Day celebrations since the beginning. Our aim is to target a wide spectrum of the public across the country.”

He added: “In addition to empowering the national values, the convoy helps to promote the sector’s distinguished services and raise awareness among both citizens and residents against the risks of violating the laws of foreigners’ entry and residence. The convoy also supports the Dubai Expo 2020 bid and introduces its distinguished services provided to the guests of the country during this international event. The convoy will ultimately conclude on December 2nd, to the Directorate General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs General Headquarters in Abu Dhabi.”

Brigadier Mubarak Rabi bin Sinan continued: “This event is very dear to us all and we are keen to demonstrate that the sons of the UAE are one family as we gather around the love of our homeland and under our flag, which empowers the citizens’ pride during this national event.
