Abu Dhabi Residency Participates in Yas Marina Circuit Events
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, October 29th 2013 [ME NewsWire]
The Abu Dhabi General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs participated in sporting events organized by Yas Marina Circuit; the events are held each Tuesday evening at the Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The activities include running, walking, and bicycling within the “Train Yas” program.
Colonel Salim Ali Al Qattam Al Zaabi, Director General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi, was ahead of all participants. The event marked the participation of Colonel Yusuf Khouri, Deputy Director General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi, along with department heads, section chiefs, a large number of officers, and civilian staff.
Al Zaabi said that the participation in this program is a response to the police leadership directives and enhances the “You are the Foundation” initiative launched by the directorate. It also gives priority to employees and urges them to be creative and unique. The participation creates harmony between the higher management and the employees and positively affects their performance and contribution.
He asserted that sports are essential to maintaining fitness, mentioning that Islam calls for healthy minds and bodies.
The “Train Yas” program offers individuals the opportunity to practice running and walking or bicycling away from the dangers of the road on one of the most famous racing circuits in the world. Such aspects render the event one of the most popular health and entertainment activities in Abu Dhabi.
