Family Security Meeting held at Emirates Park Zoo in Al Bahia

 Enhancing Social Awareness

Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Higher Committee for Child Protection at the Ministry of Interior, said that family security is one of the most important factors in developing individuals in any successful society. He also stated that the importance of achieving the goals of family security at the centers does not require extensive research as everyone knows that providing health and social care, and spreading love and sympathy among individuals in each family are enough to implement security in a society.

He added that the concepts of security and family are two faces of the same coin and are closely related. No family-based society can flourish without stable security, and stable security cannot be achieved without a socially clean family environment where love, compassion, and good collaborative efforts are widely spread. This social aspect flourishes even more when we have faithfully strong people; faith has the ability to achieve all-inclusive and sustainable security that is able to protect the community against all social fears, distance it from ethical falsifications, and protect it against crimes.

Al Nuaimi explained that this role cannot be achieved unless we have the cover of a socially-aware family that gives its children the psychological, physiological, nutritional, ideological, economic, and health security that satisfies their needs. This feeling of satisfaction will surely be reflected in the children’s hard work to create a sense of social security benefiting the community as a whole.

Al Nuaimi’s statement came during the opening event of the Family Security Meeting that was held yesterday, Monday, at the Emirates Park Zoo in Al Bahia, Abu Dhabi. The Peripheral Regions Traffic Department represented by the Community Police Department at Al Rahba Police Station participated in the event, which took place under the slogan: “A Coherent Family, A Secure Society.” The event, which concludes on Wednesday, November 27th, was organized in cooperation with the Emirates Park Zoo, Emirates Steel Inc., and a number of public and private institutions.

Major Khatem Mubarak Al Kutbi, Operation Affairs Director at the Al Rahba Police Station, said that the Family Security Meeting is organized by the Department of Community Police for three days on morning and evening shifts. He also said that the meeting will incorporate various awareness, social, and entertainment activities, workshops, and lectures. Additionally, there will be an exhibition that will be held during the three days. The exhibition will showcase the products of families that present their products for the public and internal partners such as police departments at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ. Moreover, these products will be on display for external partners such as public and private institutions.

He asserted that the main goal of this meeting is to spread awareness among society in security, health, and social aspects and to communicate with the public directly. The Emirates Park Zoo has been chosen because it is an attractive place for all social segments.

During the morning shift of the first day, the social messages of the students of Al Reef and Ibn Sina Girls School were read; additionally, two lectures were held on the evening shift. The topic of the first lecture was “Social Communication Means.” Mr. Mohammad Al Kandari from Family Development Foundation delivered the lecture and discussed the importance of these means in family security. Dr. Wael Ghonim from Abu Dhabi Centre for Autism at Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs presented the second topic, which addressed autism. The Emirates Park Zoo organized special entertainment activities for the guests of the meeting, which attracted families and their children and added a sense of fun.
