In cooperation with Tawam Hospital and John Hopkins Medicine International, the Medical Services Section of the Medical Services Department at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ recently hosted the Mobile Mammography Screening unit in Al Ain.
As part of the program, the audience was acquainted with the history of the disease, its causes, the risks of being diagnosed with breast cancer and the vulnerable age categories. It also featured panel discussions before and during registration, on the disease and curable cases, as well as the importance of spreading health awareness on breast cancer and the benefits of early detection.
Dr. Angham Ali Aman, Health Training and Education Unit Officer at the Medical Services Section indicated that cancer awareness campaigns are conducted annually. These campaigns are in line with the strategic plans adopted by the Ministry of Interior and Abu Dhabi Police, to provide high end medical services to their staff members and their families and enhance their level of health awareness.
The campaign coincides with the various related events carried out globally and at the countrywide level, to educate women on the deadly risks of this disease.
