RIYADH, Saudi Arabia - Thursday, October 24th 2013 [ME NewsWire]
(BUSINESS
WIRE)Arthur D. Little (ADL) today announced the global launch of its
Strategic Advisory Services for Competition and Regulation (SASCAR).
Based in ADL’s Telecommunication, Information, Media and Electronics
(TIME) practice, the SASCAR competence center will help define socially
and economically appropriate public policy and support telecoms
companies, manufacturers, governments and regulators in a global market
increasingly dependent on the digital economy.
Enhancing such
policies is increasingly urgent in regions where the TIME industry and
the economy remain under pressure, as Europe, as well as other parts of
the world search for global best practices. In TIME-heavy regions in
particular, rapid social and technological changes demand the pursuit of
best policy and practice for competition and regulation. These issues
urgently need addressing if private and public bodies are to meet their
competitiveness, investment and public policy goals.
Andrea
Faggiano, newly-appointed Head of the SASCAR competence center, states:
“The agenda of a CEO in the TIME industry is becoming more and more
occupied by Competition and Regulation, as a permanent stream of complex
issues challenges TIME industry players and investors. Significant
shifts continue to occur in the value chain. Accordingly, Public and
Regulatory Affairs functions are progressively stretched and should
shift from compliance functions to strategic units, with the intention
of evolving into more pro-active partners of governments and public
institutions.”
The new competence center builds on Arthur D.
Little’s extensive experience in public policy and regulation matters as
a global, trusted, and non-partisan advisor to the international
Telecommunication, Media and Technology (TMT) community.
Dr.
Karim Taga, Managing Partner and Global Practice Leader of Arthur D.
Little’s TIME practice, comments: “The Arthur D. Little TIME practice is
very proud to add such an important service line to our core portfolio.
Our consultants will work side-by-side with many high-caliber experts
in the public policy and regulatory domain that we have invited to join
the SASCAR competence center. We have strong and independent opinions
and we are eager to further engage our clients with what we believe is a
highly relevant value proposition.”
