In support of health and education for vision enhancements and quality patient care, Al Jaber Trading Agencies and Bausch + Lomb conducted two-day seminars in Abu Dhabi and Dubai on the 5th and 6th April 2011 to educate optometrists from all optical shops in the United Arab Emirates.
His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al Kindi, and on behalf of the Ministry of Health, has attended one of the seminars. He expressed the need for such training programs in order to keep the eye care professionals updated with the latest solutions and technologies in the field. A total of 200 Optometrists attended the seminars of this program, which were accredited as part of the Ministry of Health Continuing Medical Training program (MOH CME). It has recently become a government mandated legal requirement under the jurisdiction of Health Authority in Abu Dhabi, for optometrists to meet a target number of CME hours each year before the Ministry of Health will renew their license. This seminar will provide them with 3 CME hours.
