ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Wednesday, March 26th 2014
The Central Operations Room at Abu Dhabi Police received 1,040 traffic-related calls on Wednesday, including 816 in Abu Dhabi and 224 in Al Ain. These calls were registered during the rainy hours on Wednesday, between the morning and noon.
On Tuesday, the Central Operations Room received 2,156 traffic calls, including 1,828 calls in Abu Dhabi and 328 in Al Ain.
Lt. Colonel Ali Muftah Al Iryani, Chief of Central Operations Section at the Directorate General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, called on drivers to support the traffic safety initiative during extreme weather. This initiative was launched by Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate, in collaboration with the Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, urging drivers to be cautious and drive carefully and reduce speeds during rain or fog; to maintain their safety and the safety of other people on the road.
