The event attracted a diverse mix of attendees, from undergraduate to Masters level students, studying a wide range of disciplines within the science faculty.
Marwan Abdulaziz, Executive Director of TECOM Investment’s DuBiotech and EnPark said, “Facilitating relationships between academia and industry is a crucial part of our ongoing efforts to support the Dubai’s sciences economy. The event is a prime example of our determination to play a key role in the process of developing the industry, offering internships and training opportunities throughout the year.
“The UAE’s science industry has experienced significant growth in recent years. The potential contribution of this sector to the wider economy is significant and to realise this potential, we need to cultivate a highly skilled workforce that positions us to drive the science industry of the future. To do this, it is crucial that we connect students with competitive employment opportunities, to enable us to attract and retain young talent here in the region.”
Ashraf Allam, Vice President, Middle East & Africa, Mundipharma and Chairman of PhRMA regional executive committee commented, “Last year at the DuBiotech and EnPark Career Fair, we took on seven interns to work within our business. Our participation in this event was beneficial experience for both parties as the students gained important work experience, whilst Mundipharma was able to use the opportunity to inject youth into our growing business, and assess the talent on offer for full time employment. As a result, we have implemented the internship programme across the MENA region.”
“This year we are looking to recruit even more interns as we drive growth in our company and help in the bid to bring business and academia much closer together. Mundipharma is always looking to diversify its faculty, drive Emiratisation, and the event here today, hosted by DuBiotech is invaluable role at bringing us closer to the region’s talent.“
As part of the fair Cielo, a leading provider of Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) solutions hold a workshop on resume writing and interview training in order to fully prepare graduates for entering the working world.
