ADP Discusses Strengthening Community-based Initiatives at Madinat Khalifa

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Friday, February 28th 2014

The Madinat Khalifa Police Station at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters held its first quarterly meeting for 2014 with 20 strategic government and private partners within its jurisdiction. During the meeting, attendees discussed the means to promoting community-based initiatives and enhancing social responsibility of community members in general, and especially people with special needs.

The meeting yielded valuable recommendations and results, so as to activate community-based initiatives at Madinat Khalifa and its suburbs in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Major Mohammed Al Hosani, Deputy Director of Madinat Khalifa Police Station stressed that the meeting aimed at deepening social communication with various entities, and activating its role within its jurisdiction. “This would enhance awareness among the various community segments towards policing and social issues,” added Major Al Hosani.

“The attendees discussed a number of topics relevant to police work. They were briefed on the role and functions of the community police. A joint work team was formed to unify joint efforts, and exchange awareness and social rehabilitation programs on an annual basis,” he added.

Major Al Hosani lauded the role of partners and their cooperation on the initiatives that contribute to strengthening security. He also stressed the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s keenness to achieve an effective partnership with various community institutions, being a strategic priority that supports police-partners collaboration.

In conclusion, Major Al Hosani noted that, in collaboration with its partners, the police station has organized a blood donation drive at Al Mafraq hotel, Madinat Khalifa Police Station, and in Yas Island. “The campaign, which concludes this week, aims to spread awareness of the medical and social importance of blood donation, as well as its humanitarian impact on saving patients’ lives,” he said.
