Floressence – From 1 February to 13 April 2014 LA VALLÉE Village
Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, February 20th 2014 [ME NewsWire]
Roses, peonies and orchids burst into bloom in this spring’s wardrobe. The art gallery at La Vallée Village is exploring this fusion of flowers and fashion in the new exhibition, Floressence. Always colourful and often romantic, flowers are a symbol of femininity and delicacy, reminding us of life’s joys and the eloquent beauty of nature.
Floressence invites guests to an experimental lounge where they can rediscover the secret of flowers with a journey that stimulates all five senses. The exhibition is a sensorial interlude offering an explosion of colours, scents and tastes that invites guests to experience a different way of looking at flowers.
Enveloped by calming music and the relaxing sounds of nature, Floressence opens with a floral creation by Mark Colle, the designer made famous for his ‘wall of flowers’ at Raf Simons’ first runway show for Dior Haute Couture.
The sensuality, grace and ephemeral beauty of flowers are awakened through the photographic lens of Cédric Porchez. Passionate about flowers since his youth, Cédric Porchez captures the precious and fleeting moments in the life of a flower. Graphic curves, voluptuous forms, bright colours and absolute purity in black and white combine for a unique vision of floral beauty in its most essential state.
La Vallée Village has called on the trained noses of the innovative perfume house, Fragrance Resources, to bring life to these photographs through our sense of smell. A subtle blend of rare and precious essences enables guests to enhance sight with another dimension of the senses.
Nicolas Cloiseau, winner of the prestigious title Meilleur Ouvrier de France, has created the collection’s taste profile with flowers teasingly imbued with slightly sour and amber notes. To delight the taste buds, he has united audacity with originality, bringing together the strength of the cacao with the subtlety of heady jasmine flowers subdued by a violet-flavoured caramel, revealed by a backdrop of red fruits. To be discovered and tasted exclusively in the Art Gallery. The ‘Collection Fleurie’ boxed gift set will be available to buy from La Vallée Village, starting from €15.

A graduate of the École des Gobelins and nature lover, Cédric Porchez has created multiple exhibitions and collaborated with the best advertising agencies for luxury and cosmetic brands.
