Saif bin Zayed Attends the Graduation of the Second Batch of Customer Service Excellence Diploma


A Total of 490 Government Sector employees

Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior urged all partners in the private sector to participate in the next edition of the Customer Service Excellence Diploma, in order to provide further opportunities to upgrade the quality of the service sector.

These comments were made by His Highness while attending the graduation of 490 employees from various governmental and police sectors in the UAE on Tuesday at the Police Officers Club in Abu Dhabi. The recognized employees are the second batch of Customer Service Excellence Diploma.

His Highness Sheikh Saif underscored the significant attention dedicated by the country’s leadership to continuously upgrade the level of service. He said: “His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai has recently announced a remarkable initiative, by which a meeting will be held with members of the community to collect their views and suggestions.”

Furthermore, His Highness Sheikh Saif pointed out to the statement made by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, on the occasion of the advent of the New Year. Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the achievements of the UAE despite the tremendous changes and challenges and emphasized the valuable role of citizens in driving this development through their positive contribution in providing proposals for development.

His Highness Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Minister extended his heartfelt thanks to Etisalat, the leading local private telecommunications provider. He also expressed his gratitude to the supervisors of the project, urging them to find appropriate solutions to social media and to submit an initiative in this matter.

The graduation ceremony began with the national anthem. Colonel Nasser Khadem Al Kaabi, Head of the Customer Service Department at the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development delivered a speech on the occasion, by which he expressed his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior for his support and attendance at the ceremony.

Adding further, His Highness Sheikh Saif said: “The UAE seeks to achieve the well-being and happiness for all citizens, in line with the UAE vision 2021.” He noted that the ultimate objective of any development plan set forth by the government is the all-important human factor. “To this end, the government has launched several initiatives and programs to qualify customer service staff members and refine their skills, so as to enhance the government's performance level; and further drive sustainable development in the country,” he noted.

In conclusion, His Highness Sheikh Saif said: “The Ministry of Interior has dedicated significant attention to promote customer service, and improve the competencies of customer service personnel. As a part of its strategic plan, the Ministry of Interior has adopted a number of projects and initiatives to develop and improve its services offered to customers, notably the Customer Service Diploma Program. The diploma is accredited by the International Business Training Association (IBTA), and is being carried out in collaboration with Etisalat Academy in order to develop the skills of human resources via a scientific approach that is supervised by experts in human development in the field of customer service”.

The ceremony was attended by Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha'far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior; Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of Resources and Support Services; Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior; Major General Abdul Aziz Maktoum Al Shareefi, Director General of Protective Security; Major General Salem Al Shamesi, Director General of Finance and Services; Major General Khamis Mattar Al Muzainah, Commander-In-Chief of Dubai Police;  Major General Ali Abdullah Alwan, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police; and Hessa Buhumaid, Executive Director - Government Services Sector - Prime Minister’s Office. Also present at the ceremony were officials from the ministries and government departments and institutions, local bodies, and police chiefs and director generals, and a large number of officers from the Interior Ministry, and representatives from the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, and the General Secretariat of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

 For his part, Colonel Nasser Khadem Al Ka'bi, Head of the Customer Service Department at the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development, noted that the number of candidates who enrolled in this program has amounted to 866 participants since it was launched in 2014. He said: “376 candidates took part in the first edition of the Customer Service Diploma Program, while 490 candidates from various governmental sectors enrolled in the second edition.”

Moreover, he noted that 50 percent of the seats were allocated for the Ministry of Interior strategic partners’ staff members, whereas staff members from 46 local and federal government entities took part in the program’s second course. This contributed significant benefit to all, in terms of exchanging expertise, spreading the culture of excellence amongst staff members of government agencies and benefiting from the experiences of other institutions.
