Anghami and DMS (Digital Media Services) Celebrate One Year of Strong Uptake

Exclusive event hosts advertising community in Dubai

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Monday, December 1st 2014 [ME NewsWire]

More than 500 media executives and advertisers from the region’s advertising ecosystem gathered on the iconic Choueiri Group Building rooftop in Dubai Media City on November 20th, to spend an
evening with Anghami – the MENA region’s leading music app - and Digital Media Services (DMS), Choueiri Group’s digital arm and the Exclusive media representatives for Anghami. The rooftop was transformed into a flashy party set where Anghami’s resident DJs took to the decks, spinning the very best of Anghami’s playlists.

Following up on its huge success with music lovers and significant traction with advertisers looking for new exciting ways to reach audiences, DMS is leveraging Anghami’s robust positioning and targeting capabilities to offer value and differentiation to its clients. In addition to being the only service in the MENA region which provides mobile audio ads, Anghami is also offering native ad formats such as sponsored playlists, sponsored album releases and product placements that are unique and totally relevant to the brand, enabling messages which become inherently part of the user experience.

Anghami’s co-founder and CEO, Eddy Maroun stated that “Music is about emotions; brands want to associate with music and ride on the 'cool' factor to improve relationships with their consumers. The ability to target users based on their mood and activity has proven to be very effective, as it makes advertising more relevant and contextual. Captive listening is what differentiates Anghami and is driving higher engagement on all levels.

Michel Malkoun, Chief Operating Office at DMS reiterated that “Anghami's growth and market impact was way beyond what we would have expected a year back. DMS allowed Anghami to crack the ad market and reach its potential in a short period. We haven't seen any similar uptake with any other digital platform during the first year and we foresee strong growth for the future. This validates that DMS and Anghami are on track to defining the digital entertainment ad market in the MENA region."
DMS and Anghami are poised to capture the growth in mobile advertising revenues, following the increase in mobile app usage and especially media. Anghami’s free ad-supported version boasts more than 8 million users who spend more than 30 minutes per day listening via the app. Anghami is also launching a web version soon to complement its multi-platform experience. The App’s partnership with MBC group, enables Anghami to strongly extend the “second screen: experience by being part of major entertainment shows like Arab Idol, The Voice, etc…
