Easy Taxi Offers Free Taxi Thursdays to App Users

Kuwait - Tuesday, August 26th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

Easy Taxi, one of the world’s leading mobile taxi apps, is expanding its services in Kuwait and is currently offering Free Taxi Thursdays. Passengers can join the growing number of Easy Taxi drivers and avail free rides on Thursdays (up to 2 KD) by downloading the app that connects them to the 350 taxis currently registered with the service.  Easy Taxi, the first app connecting drivers and passengers in Kuwait, has demonstrated success at their other Middle Eastern locations in Jeddah, Riyadh, Bahrain, and Jordan.

With the Easy Taxi app, taxi goers no longer need to wait for call centers or stand in long lines. Upon launching the app, the passenger’s location is pinpointed and the area is scanned for nearby taxis. With safety and security in mind, Easy Taxi allows the user to not only see the location of their taxi, but also the photo and details of the driver and of car. In the event that something is left behind in the taxi, the passenger can contact the driver directly or call the hotline.

Dr. Mahmoud Fouz, CEO at EasyTaxi Middle East, said,   “We connect taxi drivers directly to passengers which results in faster and more convenient service. Our trained and tracked drivers are finding passengers more efficiently and this solution is becoming very popular for individuals and businesses as well. In addition to our Free Taxi Thursdays, we will launch Easy Taxi Corporate in the near future, which is a solution that allows corporations to take advantage of our services and provides their personnel with cashless rides. Moving around Kuwait will be a different experience for everyone.”

Founded in April 2011 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Easy Taxi is currently available in 32 countries and 162 cities (and counting). There are over 200,000 registered taxi drivers and the app has reached over 10 million downloads globally. Easy Taxi is available for Android, iOS, Blackberry, and Windows Phone devices, as well as for B2B clients through Easy Taxi Pro and Easy Taxi Corporate solutions.

Easy Taxi is backed by iMena Holdings and is part of the Middle East Internet Group (MEIG), the leading Arabic internet platform which currently operates in seven countries. MEIG is home to three successful internet companies: Carmudi, Easy Taxi and Lamudi; and is supported by two global experts in e-commerce and the Middle Eastern markets: MTN Group and Rocket Internet.
