MoI reviews the Singapore Police Academy Leadership Competencies Development Programs

During a recent visit to the Republic of Singapore, a delegation headed by Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior reviewed the Singapore Police Academy’s Programs in the field of leadership competencies development.

The Secretary General indicated that the Future Leaders Program at the Ministry of Interior is one of the first initiatives to be adopted by a federal ministry in the State, so as to achieve the development and modernization approach led by Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; which aims to develop the competencies of promising leaders.

He also noted that the program consists of an integrated set of developmental efforts, which include obtaining a Masters’ Degree and developing leadership competencies and practical experience according to the most advanced international regulations and practices in this area.

Major General Al Nuaimi indicated that the program is designed to achieve the ministry’s strategic objectives aimed at preparing and qualifying young leaders, retaining employees with special leadership skills and capabilities, and promoting a culture of high-end performance. It also seeks to ensure that leaders acquire the skills and capabilities needed to meet the ministry’s requirements, by achieving optimum investment in human resources, in addition to achieving the society’s aspirations.

The delegation visited the Singapore Police Academy, where they were greeted by Police Academy Director, who acquainted them with the work methodology and training systems applied at the academy. The delegation also visited the academy’s exhibition, the Council of Ministers, and the Civil Service Division, in charge of building a first class public service in Singapore. The visit concluded with a tour at the Civil Service College, where the delegation was acquainted with the most important strategic development programs.

The delegation included Colonel Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Head of Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ; Lt. Colonel  Dr. Rashed Al Thukhri, Head  of Strategic Planning Department at the Diwan of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Major Dr. Saif Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Deputy Head  of  the Strategy Department at Abu Dhabi Police; and Major Dr. Omar Al Ali, Director of the Leadership Development and Creativity Center, at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
