MoI Mourns Death of Officer Killed on Duty in Bahrain


ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Monday, March 3rd 2014 [ME NewsWire]

The Ministry of Interior sadly announced the death of one its officers who was killed on duty in the sisterly country of Bahrain. The officer, serving as part of the Unified GCC Security Convention’s joint security force, dubbed the “Gulf Waves”, has died of wounds sustained in a bomb blast, along with two of his Bahraini counterparts, while performing their duty to maintain national security.

The Ministry of Interior issued a statement, mourning the loss of First Lieutenant Tareq Mohamed Al Shehhi, who died as a martyr of duty. “First Lieutenant Al Shehhi joins the long list of honorable martyrs, who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, while defending people’s rights, protecting the innocent and providing assistance to brothers,” said the ministry in its statement; calling Allah Almighty to grant the bereaved family patience and solace.

It is worth mentioning that the deceased, First Lieutenant Tareq Mohamed Al Shehhi, has been an exemplary officer and a caring person, highly praised by his colleagues and family. He was known for his loyal commitment to duty, his high military ethics, courage, and bravery in discharging the tasks entrusted to him.
