Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Monday, March 10th 2014 [ME NewsWire] Dubai once again attracted several Nobel Laureates and many other top scientists to be part of the 6th International Conference on Drug Discovery & Therapy and the 3rd Biotechnology World Congress held from 10th – 12th February 2014 at Dubai Women’s College. The inaugural ceremony began with the National Anthem followed by the opening speech of the Co-presidents Prof. Dr. Ferid Murad (Nobel Laureate) and Prof. Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman, FRS, who expressed thanks to the scientists and researchers for nurturing collaborations in the advanced Western countries with those in the developing world. The gathered scientific community cherished the plenary lectures by Prof. Dr. Ferid Murad, Prof. Dr. Jean-Marie Lehn (Nobel Laureate) and Dr. Rakesh Kumar. The platform was then taken over by Invited and Session lectures being conducted in 6 parallel sessions for 6th ICDDT and in 3 parallel sessions for 3rd BWC. After the illuminating lecture sessions, the enthusiastic delegates moved for Cocktail Mixer. This mixer offered the participants a relaxing environment to mingle, socialize and exchange ideas with leading pharmaceutical scientists, biotechnologists and researchers.
After the first successful day of enlightening scientific sessions, the delegates returned on the second day to listen to further anticipated lectures. The day commenced with three most informative plenary lectures by Prof. Dr. Edmond H. Fischer (Nobel Laureate), Prof. Dr. Johannes-Peter Stasch and Prof. Dr. Bradley S. Moore. The congregation then moved towards different lecture halls to hear current findings of eminent speakers for the varied fields of drug discovery and biotechnology. At 4:10 pm both the conferences opened their doors to the much awaited Poster session, which invited a number of participants to display their intellectually sound and scientifically thorough posters, which gained wide appreciation of the audience.
The third and the concluding day of 6th ICDDT and 3rd BWC commenced with a Plenary Session by Dr. Robert Huber (Nobel Laureate) and Dr. Richard L. Atkinson, which resumed after the coffee break by the last Plenary lecture of the season of drug discovery congress by Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary. All the events took place in the same pattern throughout both the conferences. The regular sessions of Invited and Session lectures started about 11:55 am, finally closing at 2:00 pm before lunch for both the conferences.
Following lunch, the participants attended the second day of outstanding poster session. The honorable attendees were able to review the displayed research and have an interaction with the presenters, offering a better understanding of scientific advances in a more intimate environment. Prize distribution ceremony awarded cash prizes and certificates of Merit to three best posters of each conference, judged by a panel of eminent scientists. The final event of Prize Distribution ceremony of Poster presentations of 6th International Conference on Drug Discovery and Therapy and 3rd Biotechnology World Congress drew the curtain on these two successful conferences followed by the Gala Dinner at the Desert.
