Government and Diplomatic Facilities Protection Department wins ADP Pentathlon Championship

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, March 4th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

The Sports Activity Section at the Strategy and Performance Development Department at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ organized the 2014 Pentathlon Championship. 70 participants from the various departments of the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ competed in the two-day championship, which included a number of competitions including; long jumping, javelin throwing, swimming, shooting and track running. 

The Government and Diplomatic Facilities Protection Department secured first place; the Police Schools Department ranked second, and the Western Region Police Directorate ranked third. 

Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, and Colonel Anwar Abdullah Al Mulla, Head of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department of Abu Dhabi Police, honored the winners and those who contributed to the success of the competition.

  Al Raisi stressed the keenness of the police leadership to organize sports activities and competitions that positively impact the police members’ performance and raise staff members’ awareness about sports. “The police leadership is also committed to organizing competitions that develop staff members’ abilities and skills,” said Al Raisi. 

Attending the race were Major Mohammed Al Falahi, Chief of the Sports Activities Section at the Strategy and Performance Development Department; First Lieutenant Jamal Issa Al-Saadi, Sports Teams and Competitions Branch Manager at the Sports Section at the Department of Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters; and Captain Nasser Abdullah Al Saadi, Sports Committee Secretary, at the Directorate General of Central Operations.
