The Punitive Reformatory Establishments Department at Abu Dhabi Police celebrated the graduation of 21 officers and 17 constables from the 11th specialized training course on methods of dealing with detainees and convicts for officers (Level 1).
Colonel Mohammed Saif Al Zaabi, Director of the Punitive Reformatory Establishments at the Abu Dhabi Police, underscored the keenness of the police leadership to provide its staff with the best education and training. He urged the graduates to apply the practices, standards and programs in dealing with inmates, as per the international standards in this area.
Al Zaabi commended the Training Department’s role in undertaking the training process, as well as its commitment and attention towards the Punitive Reformatory Establishments’ staff. He also thanked the specialized training company and all those who contributed to this program’s success, in order to develop the performance of the Punitive Reformatory Establishments’ staff and to keep pace with international best practices.
For his part, Major Amoush Al Mansouri, Director of the Training Institute, extended his thanks to Abu Dhabi Police for its fruitful efforts to ensure the success of this initiative; pointing out the keenness of the Institute to provide trainees with the latest information related to the Punitive Reformatory Establishments through specialized courses. He also praised the trainees’ positive response with the initiative, calling on them to apply the knowledge they acquired at the workplace.
The specialized training initiative on dealing with detainees and convicts covered several courses, namely; the concepts course; regulations and special directives for the Punitive Reformatory Establishments; the use of techniques and modern methods in drug detection; among other subjects that contributed to hone the participants’ skills and expertise.
