Mrs. Amal Alshamlan, Chair of Organizing Committee of Physiodubai said that the Conference is organized under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum , Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, UAE, President of Dubai Health Authority. The Vice President of World Confederation for Physical Therapy, Emma Stokes will be the guest of honor this year. The conference aims to attract Physiotherapists, Sports Physicians, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Rehabilitation & Health Care Professionals, Neurologists & Neurosurgeons, Family Physicians, Medical Insurance Representatives, and Students.
Mr. Kamkar explained that this year we will be looking at the latest evidence in relevant topics related to sports injuries, shoulder, ankle, and knee, neurodynamics, and stroke. Physio Dubai 2012 aims to fill the gap between practice and research by providing the latest in the growing body of knowledge and research in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation. We have gathered a distinguished team of keynote & invited speakers, all of whom are leaders in their fields.
The main theme of the conference this year is sports injuries: how to better assess them, manage them, and plan return to sport following rehabilitation. Topics that will be covered range from prevention of anterior cruciate ligament tears, ankle and shoulder rehabilitation, and hamstring injuries. Additionally, the conference will have a session on role of physiotherapy in rehabilitation of equine injuries. Lesley Goff who is a world-renowned authority in animal physiotherapy will be one of the keynote speakers of the conference.
The conference will be comprised of keynote lectures, clinical perspective lectures, poster presentations, breakout clinical workshops and pre/ post conference courses. The official language of the conference is English.
