The 3rd and final qualifying round in Al-Khobar on April 19th

"Abdulhadi Al-Qahtani" wins Jeddah's qualifying round of "Red Bull Car Park Drift" competition in its 3rd season

After winning the second round of qualifying tournament for   "Red Bull Car  Park Drift" competition in its 3rd season, which was held Jeddah, Abdulhadi Al-Qahtani  joins his colleague Hatim Natto, winner of Riyadh's round, to represent Saudi Arabia in the final tournament in Beirut this summer.

Amid a considerable public presence of more than 15000 audience  that filled the car parking area of Red Sea Mall in Jeddah, the 2nd round took place, Al-Qahtani  clinched the title onboard his Ford Mustang car after strong and breathtaking  competition.

First place winner Al-Qahtani received the trophy from Prince Abdulaziz Turki Al-Faisal,  and  Mohammed Al-Orabi came   second onboard his  Chevrolet Lumina SS car,  while Faisal Al-Sharif   came third onboard Hyundai Genesis Coupe car.

Abdulhadi Al-Qahtani expressed his pleasure for winning the second round of "Red Bull Car Park Drift" championship, and said: "I didn't see this coming in front of such huge audience; I was delighted by their non-stop cheers and encouragement. It was a wonderful evening and unforgettable, I pray to God to achieve good result in the final tournament in Beirut to hoist high the Saudi flag.  I would like to thank Red Bull for organizing this stunning event."

The jury consisted of Red Bull driver and rallies champion Abdo Feghali, and delegate of Saudi Automobile Federation Elie Samaan, and Prince Abdulaziz Turki Al-Faisal, champion of Porsche GT3 Middle East Challenge, and Abdullah Bakhashab, the renowned Middle East rallies champion.

Participants' performance evaluation was primarily based on their drifting shows including their skills in timely using of handbrakes, accurate turning at high speed, and fiercest roaring of engine, strong tires spinning, as well as the audience reaction and level of cheers.

The Kingdom's qualifying rounds is held under the auspices of the  General Presidency of Youth Welfare, and Saudi Automobile Federation, and under the sponsorship Chevrolet, Hankook tires and Castrol lubricants.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Sadoudi, Chevrolet Marketing Manager of General Motors Middle East Operations, said: "We are pleased share Red Bull  in the organization of "Red Bull Car Park Drift 2012" championship. Chevrolet is very keen to develop local talents in general, and in motorsport, in particular."

The final and  3rd round of Kingdome's qualifying tournament will be held at the car parking area of "Fouad Center" in Al-Khobar on April 19th.

The title of last year’s final round of "Red Bull Car Park Drift" was won by the Saudi driver Saeed Al-Mouri   after presenting strong shows, in front of thousands of enthusiastic fans. Both the Lebanese contestants Firas Khaddaj and Garo Haroutiounian came second and third respectively.
