Abu Dhabi Police Honors Outstanding Initiative Submitters

The Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters organized a ceremony to honor a number of outstanding initiative submitters from the Directorate General of Finance & Support Services, the Directorate General of Security and Ports Affairs, and the Directorate General of Guards and Special Tasks, in recognition of their leading efforts in police work. Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ also honored the Transport and Workshops Department team for their efforts undertaken in converting 522 vehicles of the police cars fleet to run on natural gas, as an eco-friendly alternative to fuel to reduce pollution. This step stems out of a firm belief in the importance of participating in environmental development and leading by example using alternative, eco-friendly energy.
Major General Badran highly commended the efforts exerted by the honorees in converting the vehicles to run on natural gas. This reflects the attention dedicated by Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to encourage police staff members to achieve excellence. This attention culminated with distinguished outcomes, in terms of power conservation, being a vital utility and the core element of modern society and achieving electric efficiency savings. 
Major General Badran explained that implementing this leading initiative allowed the police institution to reduce energy consumption significantly, which was one of the highest among other government departments and bodies.  It also reduced the negative effects of the different police vehicles used in areas of policing work.
For his part, Brigadier General Dr. Saif Bu Dhufaira Al Ameri, Director General of Security and Ports Affairs honored a number of the distinguished staff members who instrumental in uncovering the circumstances of a security case. He praised their strenuous efforts to achieve the highest standards in police work, in line with the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s strategy, to promote safety and security in society, as per advanced and modern methods, based on international-best standards.
Brigadier General Fares Khalifa Al Farisi, Director General of Guards and Special Tasks at Abu Dhabi Police awarded medals of Security Cooperation to a number of the directorate’s staff members, in recognition of their distinguished efforts in police field operations. Brigadier General Al Farisi reiterated the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s keenness to recognize distinguished efforts, and to honor competent staff members, by encouraging them to achieve further excellence.
In his speech at the event, Brigadier Omair Al Muhairi, Deputy Director of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police and Chairman of the Employees Recognition Committee emphasized that selecting and honoring distinguished staff members is in line with the police leadership’s vision of honoring outstanding staff members, in recognition of their efforts in performing the tasks and duties assigned to them, and their contributions to improving police work. Brigadier Al Muhairi called upon the honorees and all police officers to exert further efforts to improve police work.
The ceremony, which was held at the Abu Dhabi General Headquarters, was attended by Brigadier Omair Al Muhairi, along with Colonel Abdul Hakim Saeed Al Suwaidi, Head of the Cases Affairs Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior. Also attending were Lt. Colonel Saeed Mayouf Al Dire, from the Diwan Department ; Lieutenant Colonel Khalfan Al Ka’bi, from the Human Resources Directorate General; Major Hamad Al Neyadi, from the General Directorate of Police Operations; Major Mohammed Al Blushi, from the Human Resources Directorate General; Major Sohail Al Neyadi, the Committee's secretary; and First Assistant Abdullah Al Mansouri, from the Diwan Department.
