Ice Age: Collision Course Set for Middle-East Release in English and Arabic

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, August 2nd 2016 [ME NewsWire]

14 years after the first Ice Age hit theaters, ICE AGE: COLLISION COURSE is set to land in Middle-Eastern theaters in both Arabic and English this Thursday, courtesy of Empire International Gulf, the exclusive distributor of 20th Century Fox in the region. Audiences everywhere love the Ice Age films, which is the second biggest animated motion picture franchise in the world, having grossed over 2.8 Billion USD at the worldwide box office since 2002.  Each new story increases the stakes, scale, adventure, humor and heart—making ICE AGE: COLLISION COURSE the biggest and most ambitious film of the series.

In this fifth installment of the Ice Age saga, Scrat's epic pursuit of his elusive acorn catapults him outside of Earth, where he accidentally sets off a series of cosmic events that transform and threaten the planet. To save themselves from peril, Manny, Sid, Diego, and the rest of the herd leave their home and embark on a quest full of thrills and spills, highs and lows, laughter and adventure while traveling to exotic new lands and encountering a host of colorful new characters.

Speaking of the film’s Arabic release, Mario Jnr Haddad, Vice President, Empire International Gulf said: “We believe that this is just the beginning of a major shift in the way that the local market consumes Hollywood made blockbusters,” he continued, “with more than 45% of the GCC population (excluding Saudi Arabia) being movie goers, there is a lot of room for growth and development.”

ICE AGE: COLLISION COURSE will be released across the Middle-East in both English and Arabic on Thursday, August 4th, with a special sneak preview taking place on Tuesday, August 2nd in select markets.
