MoI Introduces GITEX Visitors to ADP E-Club


ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, October 24th 2013 [ME NewsWire]

The Ministry of Interior’s pavilion at GITEX 2013 showcases the latest developments on the e-Club portal, the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s portal on the Internet. The e-Club is run by the Strategy and Performance Development Directorate General at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. The portal serves the employees of the Abu Dhabi Police. It represents a website to share information and knowledge; it includes 86,000 documents and has a rate of 55 users per minute.

The e-Club portal on the internal network, which operates on Microsoft SharePoint, was visited by more than seven million users in less than three years. It provides an efficient work environment for employees at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.

Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, highlighted the importance of the e-Club portal, underscoring the cooperation with concerned entities, most importantly Microsoft Gulf, in order to develop the website according to international standards. “The website aims to empower internal communication among MoI’s employees and serves as an e-portal that contains information, circular letters, and work-organizing decisions in addition to social communication among Abu Dhabi Police GHQ members,” he said.

He added: “The Abu Dhabi Police has assigned a team to provide the website with police news, press releases, statistics, and photographs of the main activities and events organized by the Abu Dhabi Police. The team is also responsible for updating the website so that all police members can review the news and updates at the General Headquarters.”

Captain Ashayma’ Taleb Hussein, Chief of the e-Club Section, said: “The e-Club includes the organizational chart of the Abu Dhabi Police, circular letters issued by the police GHQ, the annual training plan, the e-Library, and the activity and event agenda in addition to offering a service allowing for e-bookings of meeting halls.”

Samer Ramez Abu-Ltaif, Regional General Manager, Gulf Region Microsoft Corporation, stressed the commitment of Microsoft Gulf to support the strategic priorities of the Abu Dhabi Police by enhancing internal cooperation and collaboration via SharePoint 2010. He said that the software provides a flexible foundation that will help the Abu Dhabi Police build a unique network, which will enable its employees to better communicate, share and learn.

The press conference discussed the latest updates on the e-Club portal that serves as an internal network, which allows the Abu Dhabi Police’s members to share expertise and information.

The e-Club website was established in 2010. It operates with Microsoft SharePoint 2010. The portal is run by the Strategy and Performance Development Directorate General at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. It aims to achieve a number of goals such as enhancing cooperation and linkage among the Abu Dhabi Police workforce, which currently exceeds 33,000 employees that are located on a wide geographical spread. The website allows employees to share knowledge and information necessary for work execution and productivity across different fields.

The portal also helps achieve the vision of the Abu Dhabi Police to create a paper-free, fully-automated environment that enables employees to increase productivity and reduce administrative requirements.

The website includes more than 150 domains and e-services. It represents efficient communication tools for all employees and departments with a comprehensive work system.

The e-Club portal includes different features; it allows employees to communicate with higher leaderships at the Abu Dhabi Police. It also allows them to ask questions, receive answers, and discuss topics related to leadership priorities. Additionally, the portal serves as a work platform and a website that organizes documents related to the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance, which is currently an e-service to document the content of all awards related to the Abu Dhabi Police.
