To mark the UAE’s 42nd National Day, the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police organized a ceremony in its auditorium, in collaboration with the Public Relations Section.
The ceremony included several events, which highlighted the meaning and values of national heritage namely; the UAE’s National Anthem popularly known as “Ishy Bilady”; the “Al Zaeem Al Falahi” poem clip, a gift from the MoI to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, on the occasion of the 42nd UAE National Day; as well as folkloric songs. Emirati poet Lt. Mohammad Al Nuaimi also recited a national poem, which expressed his pride in his beloved country.
The directorate’s premises and departments were decorated with the UAE flag colors. Token gifts inspired by the occasion were distributed to the directorate’s staff members, including flag scarves and the National Day celebration logo, to instill the national significance of the occasion deep in their hearts.
The ceremony was attended by the Director General, the Deputy Director, along with heads of departments, chiefs of sections, and employees at the directorate.
Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police congratulated the higher leadership on this glorious national occasion, indicating that the celebration embodies the achievements attained in the areas of safety, security, and stability. It also comes in line with the efforts to implement a comprehensive strategy to achieve road safety, by providing the necessary resources to implement smart systems and train human cadres on best practices, in order to achieve zero road fatalities by the year 2030 – “Zero Vision”.
During the ceremony, Al Harithi honored a total of 59 individuals (including 45 staff members and 14 collaborators), in line with the job incentive methodology. This aims to improve performance, motivate human cadres to be a role model for their colleagues, and encourage all segments of society to comply with traffic laws the efforts to make roads safer. Al Harithi also honored staff members of the Public Relations Section, in recognition of their efforts to boost the internal communication methodology and encourage participation in national events.
The Directorate also participated in a ceremony organized by Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs on the occasion of the 42nd UAE National Day. The ceremony, which was held at the Abu Dhabi Center for Care and Rehabilitation for people with special needs, comes in line with the directorate’s commitment to enhance communication and share the joy of this glorious National Day with the various society segments, particularly people with special needs.
In his speech delivered during the celebration, Lt. Colonel Ahmed Al Zayoudi, Chief of the Major Traffic Accidents Section at Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate, reiterated the support provided by the Abu Dhabi Traffic and Patrols Directorate to engage children with special needs in all national celebrations and initiatives. This stems out of its firm belief in the importance of this category, and its keenness to bolster their self-confidence, unlock their potential and play an instrumental part in society.
In addition, Al Zayoudi indicated that by taking part in the celebrations with people with special needs, the ADP Traffic and Patrols Directorate aims to instill the meaning and importance of the National Day in their hearts. It also aims to acquaint them with the countless achievements and progress achieved by the Union throughout its 42 years of existence in various fields. The ceremony also included an exhibition, traffic-related contests, the car with the most beautiful National Day decoration contest, and gifts; so as to promote the police officer’s humanitarian image in society.
For her part, Captain Aisha Al Zaabi, Traffic Awareness Officer at the Public Relations Section, pointed out that the traffic awareness plan is designed to raise the level of traffic awareness among the category of people with special needs.
…….. And a Parade in Al Ain
The ADP Traffic and Patrols Directorate, represented by the Al Ain Traffic Section, took part in a parade organized by the Department of Economic Development in Al Ain, to mark the 42nd UAE National Day. A number of military, civilian, and community figures, accompanied by the Police Music Band, took part in the parade from the Al Ain Municipality roundabout to the Economic Development Department Building.
Major Salah Abdulalh Al Humairi, Chief of the Al Ain Traffic Section, stressed the keenness to participate in all community activities, exhibitions and parades; acting upon the police leadership’s directives to strengthen cooperation, coordination, and interaction with all segments of society.
For his part, First Lieutenant Nasser Al Dir’e, the Protocol and Tasks Branch Manager at the Al Ain Traffic Section, noted that the section participated in securing the parade; “Participating in such events keeps the traffic and patrols officers in direct and close contact with members of the public in the streets during the various events,” he noted.
