ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, November 28th 2013 [ME NewsWire]A total of 45 students from Al Bawadi Primary School for Boys participating in the Police Friends Program, visited the Security Media Department, at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Office, accompanied by social worker Abdullah Salem Basalib. This visit is in pursuance of the Abu Dhabi Police initiatives to promote cooperation and communication with the Abu Dhabi Education Council. The students presented a bouquet of flowers to the department’s staff members, on the occasion of the UAE 42ndNational Day.
Lt. Colonel Saeed Al Khajah, Deputy Director of Security Media Depart welcomed the visiting delegation. “This visit underscores the values of social responsibility undertaken by the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, and its keenness to interact and communicate with all segments of society to deliver its awareness message,” pointed out Al Khajah. Major Fawaz Ali, Head of the Media Support Department accompanied the visiting delegation on a tour across the departments’ sections and branches. Moreover, he briefed students on the functions of the Department and its objectives to reduce crime, promote a sense of security and satisfaction, gain the trust of all society members and enhance security awareness, through comprehensive and effective communication. Concluding, he wished them success in their studies and their lives.
For his part, social worker Abdullah Salem Basalib from Al Bawadi Primary School for Boys lauded the Abu Dhabi Police initiatives targeting students, and its keenness to educate them security-wise. He indicated that the school dedicates one day per week for police training. On this particular day, students wear police uniforms; the physical education teacher trains them on marching cadences and discipline. Students also receive cultural information, highlighting their role in society, and the police role to provide security and protection to society and its members.
