Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, May 28th 2013 [ME NewsWire]

Dubai Media City, the MENA region’s largest hub dedicated to the media industry, recently hosted a delegation from the Xinhua News Agency to further bolster business ties between China and Dubai.

Li Cong Jun, the President of the Xinhua News Agency, said “Dubai’s remarkable economic growth is due to the foresight vision of the government. This has encouraged trade between China and the UAE in recent years. Dubai also offers an unrivalled location and acts as a gateway to the wider MENA region; posing a huge opportunity for Chinese businesses to invest in the emirate.”

“Dubai Media City has been able to boost the UAE's media foothold; hosting several regional and global companies. During this visit we look forward to explore any potential opportunities that will help promote ties between China and the UAE; and increase our presence in the region”, he continued.

In addition, Xinhua News Agency, the official press agency of the People’s Republic of China, will look at the potential opportunity of opening an office in Dubai Media City.

The five person delegation included Yen Wen Bin, Jiao Ran, Kong Yue Ming, Li Zhen, and Song Yu.

Hosting the delegation, Saeed Al Falasi, Executive Director of International Media Production Zone, part of TECOM’s Media Cluster, commented:

‘Trade with China has increased significantly over the years and has proven mutually beneficial to both economies. We are delighted to have the Chinese delegation visit and explore the thriving business community that Dubai Media City represents. This will further help boost future collaboration and synergies between China and Dubai.’
