Al Rumaithi Attends Security Drill at the ADP Special Tasks Department


ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Wednesday, April 27th 2016 [ME NewsWire]

Major General Mohammed Khalfan Matar Al Rumaithi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, attended on Wednesday a security drill at the Force 7 Department’s headquarters. The drill was organized by the General Directorate of Guards and Special Tasks at the Abu Dhabi Police, in cooperation with the Korean Police Department.

The drill included a number of mock operations, which highlight the field duties undertaken by the General Directorate of Guards and Special Tasks’ various departments; as well as training exercises aimed at maintaining staff members’ readiness and fitness and reflecting staff members’ skills and competence.

Major General Al Rumaithi praised the participants’ abilities in implementing the established security scenario and contributing to its success. He also commended their unrelenting dedication, competence and efficiency, as well as their prompt response and utmost readiness. He urged them to pursue their dedication, in a bid to achieve the vision of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, aimed at ensuring that the emirate of Abu Dhabi remains a society that enjoys security and safety.

The drill was attended by Major General Omair Muhammad Ateeq Al Muhairi, Director General of Police Operations; Brigadier Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director General of Security and Ports Affairs; Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director General of Central Operations; Brigadier Mohammed Obeid Salem Obeid Al Dhaheri, Director General of Human Resources; Brigadier Dr. Eng. Saif Hamdan Al Ka'bi, Deputy Director of Finance and Services; along with a number of officers, heads of sections and branch managers at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ).

Brigadier Mubarak Abdullah Al Muhairi, Director General of Guards and Special Tasks at the Abu Dhabi Police, said that this drill is part of the general directorate’s ongoing quest to improve and develop work mechanisms and to qualify human resources. “The drill also reflects the general directorate’s keenness to test and measure the speed of response of its staff members, so as to achieve the highest police performance standards, in line with the strategic plans of the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ,” he said. It is worth mentioning that the drill was implemented in coordination with a number of police departments.

Additionally, Brigadier Al Muhairi pointed out that the drill is first time collaboration with the Korean police. He said: “The Abu Dhabi Police, represented by the General Directorate of Guards and Special Tasks is the first entity to implement the Korean experience, which is regarded as one of the most successful international experiences in dealing with various difficult and complex field tasks. This would contribute to enhance and develop the capabilities and skills of staff members, and upgrade their performance and efficiency as per the best advanced standards.”
