To raise awareness regarding matters surrounding men’s health and in observance of ‘Movember,’ an annual event involving the growing of moustaches all through the month of November, Fakih IVF Fertility Center has a special line-up of services rolled out for all its male patients.

As part of the services, all male patients will be provided with a free semen analysis, with an additional 15 percent discount on all IVF-ICSI packages. This service can be availed across all Fakih IVF Fertility Center’s located in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Al Ain until the end of this month.

Dr Michael Fakih, Medical Director of Fakih IVF said, “Infertility can have a strong negative impact on any male’s self-esteem. More often it has been observed that being infertile brings along with it a stress, depression, guilt or anxiety and the feeling of inadequacy among men. At Fakih IVF we understand the consequences of the situation and our experts are trained to provide quality treatments and solutions that could make this journey a lot easier on the patients.”

Dr Hussein Kandil, Specialist Urology at Fakih IVF Fertility Center, Abu Dhabi said that infertility in men can be caused due to either genetic or acquired factors. In a few cases it can also be caused due to childhood related problems which have directly or indirectly affected their fertility. “Although the most common factor driving infertility could be a genetic issue, in about 30% of the reported cases it is typically acquired and there is no definitive cause. In another 10-15% of the cases, infertility is caused due to endocrinopathies or hormonal problems.”

Dr Kandil states that the IVF success rate can differ among males and females due to several factors. Females go through menopause bringing a predictable decline to their fertility. Fakih IVF recorded a successful pregnancy rate of approximately 72% for women under 35 years of age. Whereas, women aged 42 years and above experience a significant decline in pregnancy rate.

Men, on the other hand unlike women do not have menopause or any reason that could lead to a predictable decline in their fertility, making it difficult to characterize what happens to males with age. However, Dr Kandil said that studies indicate that age could be the governing factor causing infertility among men. The length of time required to conceive with a male partner aged 40 years or above could be much higher than trying to conceive with a partner in their late 20’s or early 30’s. With age, male sperm DNA tends to get dysfunctional, delaying the time for conception.

Low sperm counts or poor semen parameters also could be factors contributing to male infertility. Per intercourse at the time of ovulation, the success rate of having natural pregnancy for the normal male population stands at approximately 20%, those with low semen parameters stand a much lesser chance, he added.

Fakih IVF Fertility Center is one of the leading Infertility, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Genetics and IVF centers in the GCC region with centers in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Dubai. With several state-of-the-art technologies, the center is continually advancing in the field of reproductive medicine across the region.

  1. my partner and I have been trying for a baby for over two years now, We were going to a fertility clinic for about 5 months before somebody at baby center told us to contact this spell caster who is so powerful, We contacted him at this email; babaka.wolf@gmail.com or Facebook at priest.babaka , for him to help us, then we told him our problem, he told us that we will conceive once we follow his instructions ,but after two years of trying we were at a point where we were willing to try anything. And I'm glad we came to Priest Babaka, Because his pregnancy spell cast and herbal remedy help us, and I honestly believe him, and his gods really helped us as well, I am thankful for all he has done. contact him via email: babaka.wolf@gmail.com or Facebook at priest.babaka if you are trying to have a baby or want your lover back. he has powers to do it, he has done mine
