‘Madfaa Al Eftar’ and ‘Al Nishan’ are two of Sharjah TV’s top series offered to audiences around the world during the holy month

Sharjah TV, part of Sharjah Media Corporation (SMC), will be broadcasting a new season of programmes full of surprises during the holy month of Ramadan, including a number of Arab and Gulf series. Most notably, these include: Gulf series ‘Saq Al Bamboo,’ (‘The Bamboo Stalk’) based on the novel of the same name by Kuwaiti author Saud Alsanousi, and ‘Lageit Rouhi’; Bedouin series ‘Al Damaa Al Hamraa’; and Egyptian series ‘Layali El Helmeya’ (‘Helmeya Nights’).
Sharjah TV’s viewers in the GCC countries have 23 different programme options, particularly the show ‘Madfaa Al Eftar,’ which can be viewed daily by the channel’s regional audiences throughout Ramadan, as well as the cultural game and talk show, ‘Al Nishan’.
‘Madfaa Al Eftar,’ which has been broadcast on Sharjah TV for several Ramadan seasons, documents the Iftar cannon firing, by which viewers can watch the sunset from the programme’s location in Al Majaz Waterfront - Sharjah. The programme carries both religious and public messages and is an interactive show that broadcasts live on air in front of an audience who take part in religious contests and win valuable prizes, in association with the Sharjah Police General Headquarters.
In addition, Sharjah TV is providing its viewers with a cultural game and talk show ‘Al Nishan’, which will include new features this year. These include a range of fast-paced segments showing artistic performances and mental competitions, where questions are asked during the segments, as well as a major question for ‘Al Nishan’ viewers during each episode.
Sharjah TV will be exclusively broadcasting the new season of the ‘Ajmal Masajed Al Aalam’ programme, the winner of the Al Owais Creativity Award 2016 in the UAE. It highlights the aesthetics and different types of Islamic architecture that characterise mosques all over the world, and focuses on the historical aspect of ancient mosques and the events that influenced their construction process and architecture.
Sharjah TV will also broadcast a special programme about inspiration and happiness titled ‘Salim 4’, which features global stories and experiences that enhance cultural and general knowledge, and aims to motivate people to memorise the Quran with a fresh spirit. The programme’s episodes will feature a 21-day journey through the Himalayas.
People who prefer to live a healthy lifestyle will enjoy watching the ‘Hayatna’ (‘Our Lives’) programme which discusses the most common health issues, especially during the holy month. Viewers will be shown how to improve their health and will be warned about the unhealthiest practices during Ramadan, in order to make the necessary changes according to the show’s health advice.
Other drama series that will be shown by Sharjah TV are: Syrian series ‘Khatoun’; Egyptian programme ‘Al Khorouj’; Gulf shows ‘Ramasat 2’ and ‘Bab el Reeh’; and the historical Egyptian series ‘Qodat Othamaa’ (‘Great Judges’).
