MoI to Discuss the Impact of Social Media on Youth in Al Ain Council

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Wednesday, January 28th 2015 [ME NewsWire]

The Ministry of Interior will be organizing its fifth awareness council after tomorrow, Friday in Mohammed Ahmed Al Mahmoud Al Bloushi‘s majlis at his residence located in Al Jimi area in the city of Al Ain. The council, held under the title “the Impact of Social Media on Youth”, will be moderated by media figure Abdul Rahman Mohammed Abdullah Al Hammadi, Editor-in-Chief of Araa News Agency.

The Council will address the youth and how receptive they are to modern means of communication, as well as the emergence of social media websites, and how they influence personality development in youth. The council will also highlight the need for constant parental awareness and control to ensure that children use modern communication channels and social media platforms in a safe and responsible manner.

It is worth mentioning that the MoI, represented by the Law Respect Culture Bureau, had launched the first awareness council for 2015 on January 12, in cooperation with the Security Media Department. These year-round councils held across Abu Dhabi discuss a variety of social issues of national, service, and police specificity.
