Ingres Signs Global Partner Agreement with MicroStrategy

Collaboration on ‘Performance2’Joint Initiative to Deliver More Decision Making Power to Business Users

MONTE CARLO, Monaco - Monday, July 11th 2011 [ME NewsWire]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Ingres, pioneers of the breakthrough analytic database VectorWise, today announced that they have signed a global partner agreement with MicroStrategy® Incorporated(Nasdaq:MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of business intelligence (BI) software. In addition, the VectorWise analytic database has passed MicroStrategy’s comprehensive test suite, certifying it as a supported database for the MicroStrategy platform.

As part of the newly established partnership agreement, the two companies are collaborating to launch Performance2 (Performance Squared), an initiative which offers high performing and affordable analytics that enable organizations to divert investment from expensive back-end data infrastructure to front-line business users. MicroStrategy with VectorWise allows companies to deploy more BI to more people by shifting data storage to the cloud, reducing costs and offering insights to business users on any mobile device. VectorWise’s record breaking price performance will enable joint clients to implement this infrastructure at significantly less cost than existing options.

“We are pleased with Ingres’ official certification as a MicroStrategy partner,” said Sanju Bansal, MicroStrategy Chief Operating Officer. “MicroStrategy’s mobile platform enables organizations to build a wide variety of mobile apps that deliver business intelligence, transactions, and exciting multimedia content. Together with Ingres, our customers can run intuitive reports and dashboards, and act quickly on data stored across their enterprise with next-generation mobile apps that speed their businesses forward.”

“The demand for BI systems with faster data access continues to grow and requires dramatically more efficient technology,” said Terry Garnett, Chief Executive Officer at Ingres. “VectorWise is the first analytic database to exploit the power of the modern chip to deliver record breaking performance. When you combine that performance with MicroStrategy’s BI platform, you get a powerful solution that allows companies to achieve insights faster than ever before wherever they are. I believe this is an essential step in redefining how people work today.”

VectorWise, a record breaking database for interactive reporting, unlocks the power of modern commodity CPUs with a database engine that leverages vector-based processing and on-chip memory to provide dramatic performance gains over other databases. No other database enables faster performance without the requirement of more hardware or extensive tuning. Customers and partners have reported 10-70X improvements.

Mobile BI has evolved from basic reports and dashboards on a mobile device to action-enabled apps that change the way companies do business and the way people work. A leader in mobile intelligence, MicroStrategy provides a powerful platform to build enterprise and consumer mobile apps. To highlight the power of mobile BI, Ingres will showcase a hosted 5 terabyte demo on the iPad at MicroStrategy World 2011, being held in Monte Carlo.
