(BUSINESS WIRE) - The 15th China International Petroleum & Petrochemical Technology and Equipment Exhibition (cippe) will be held at Beijing New International Exhibition Center on March 26-28, 2015, simultaneously with the 15th China International Exhibition on Equipment of Pipeline and Oil & Gas Storage and Transportation (CIPE) and the 5th China International Natural Gas Technology & Equipment Exhibition (CING).

Thuraya appoints Keith Murray to lead Maritime Product Management

New hire brings 25 years of experience in maritime and product management to growing maritime and offshore-focussed team

Thuraya Telecommunications, a leading Mobile Satellite Services (MSS) operator has further strengthened its maritime team with the appointment of Keith Murray as Maritime Product Manager, based in Dubai.

Murray’s key tasks will be to increase the penetration of the Orion IP maritime broadband terminal in the market and oversee the commercial roll-out of the new Atlas IP broadband terminal in the first quarter of 2015.

Commenting on his appointment, Murray said: “The market is ready for a new alternative in the maritime segment. Murray joins Thuraya from Airbus Defence and Space where he was responsible for managing the lifecycle of products and systems in the naval satellite communication segment. He brings over two decades of business and customer-facing experience, almost of half of it in satellite communications.

Al Sha’far Awards Interior Ministry Officers with New Ranks

Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior, awarded a large number of officers from Lieutenant Colonels to their new ranks. The officers were promoted by virtue of the Federal decree No. (7) of 2015 that His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, had recently issued. The promotional event was held on Sunday in the auditorium at the Ministry’s headquarters.

Lt. General Al Sha’far conveyed the greetings of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to the promoted officers and praised their efforts in the performance of their duties.

23% انخفاضاً بوفيات الحوادث المرورية على أخطر 10 طرق في إمارة أبوظبي

انخفضت وفيات الحوادث المرورية على أخطر 10 طرق في إمارة أبوظبي بنسبة 23% مقارنة بالعام الماضي، وعزت مديرية المرور والدوريات بشرطة أبوظبي الانخفاض لتكثيف الجهود الميدانية من خلال زيادة عدد الدوريات، وتركيب رادارات ووضع اللوحات الإرشادية بتحديد سرعة ضبط الرادار على الطرق.

وأفاد العميد المهندس حسين أحمد الحارثي، مدير مديرية المرور والدوريات بشرطة أبوظبي بأن أخطر عشرة طرق بالأمارة تشمل: طريق أبوظبي – السلع  - طريق أبوظبي العين - شارع العين دبي - طريق الشاحنات (أبوظبي العين)- شارع غياثى – شارع مدينة زايد الجديد –طريق الشاحنات أبوظبي دبي – طريق المطار الدولي – شارع حميم – طريق سويحان.

 وأشار إلى انخفاض عدد الحوادث المرورية التي وقعت على تلك الطرق من 645 حادثاً خلال (2013) إلى 575 حادثاً في (2014) بنسبة 11% وانخفاض الوفيات من 156 وفاة إلى 120 وفاة بنسبة 23% والإصابات البليغة بنسبة 40%.

 وأوضح الحارثي أن أخطر الطرق من حيث تصنيف الحوادث العام الماضي كان طريق أبوظبي السلع، وبلغ  عدد الحوادث نحو 150 حادثاً مرورياً  اسفرعن وفاة 47 شخصاً وإصابة 37 بإصابات بليغة، يليه طريق أبوظبي العين؛ وبلغ عدد الحوادث  184 حادثاً مرورياً أدت إلى وفاة 28 شخصاً وإصابة 7 بإصابات بليغة، وفي طريق الشاحنات أبوظبي دبي بلغ عدد الوفيات نحو 14 وفاة  في 37 حادثاً وفي طريق سويحان بلغ  عددها 11 وفاة  في61 حادثاً.

وذكر الحارثي أن تصنيف خطورة الطرق يتم بناء على تحليل مؤشرات الحوادث المرورية، والأسباب التي تؤدي إلى وقوعها، ووضع الحلول كافة التي تؤدي إلى تلافيها من خلال التعاون المشترك مع الشركاء، لافتاً إلى أن الحوادث التي وقعت على تلك الطرق تنوعت ما بين حوادث تصادم وتدهور ودهس، مشيراً إلى أن الانحراف المفاجئ وعدم ترك مسافة كافية، وتجاوز السرعة المقررة وانفجار الإطار، والإهمال وعدم الانتباه، من أبرز الأسباب التي أدت إلى وقوع الحوادث.

 وأشار إلى تكثيف الرقابة المرورية على تلك الطرق من خلال الدوريات المرورية ودوريات مباحث المرور المدنية؛ لتكريس الالتزام بقانون السير والمرور، والحد من الأسباب التي تؤدي إلى وقوع الحوادث المرورية، وما ينتج عنها من وفيات وإصابات بليغة، مشدداً على تكثيف التوعية بتطبيق خطة التوعية المرورية للعام الحالي.

ودعا قائدي المركبات عموماً وعلى تلك الطرق للالتزام بقانون السير والمرور، وترك مسافة كافية خلف المركبات والحرص والانتباه أثناء القيادة والالتزام بالسرعات المقررة.

وكانت المديرية أعدت مبادرة لدراسة أسباب ارتفاع وفيات تلك الطرق في الإمارة من ناحية وتنفيذ خطط لخفض وفيات الحوادث؛ حيث تضمنت الدراسة الجوانب الهندسية لتلك الطرق والضبط المروري والسرعات وتوعية السائقين.
