Jafza meets with strategic business partners and associates


Attendees review latest infrastructure and service developments

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, July 5th 2011 [ME NewsWire]

Senior Jafza officials met with Free Zone business partners including Government Authorities to discuss the most recent developments in the Free Zone, as well as improvements to infrastructure facilities and services.

Talal Al Hashimi, Managing Director of EZW, UAE Region, Ibrahim Mohamed Al Janahi, Deputy CEO, Jafza and Chief Commercial Officer, Fatma Salem, EVP & Commercial Director, Operations and Dr. Amr El Sabban, SVP Engineering & Project Management, Property Department spoke to attending partners and answered their individual queries on operations and other initiatives.

Officials also revealed that Jafza customers and visitors will be able to access Emirates Road directly from the South Zone this year. The new road constructed to complement Jafza’s large-scale South Zone development plans which started in 2003, will further ease up traffic congestion and result in more streamlined movement into and out of the Free Zone.

Ibrahim Mohamed Al Janahi said: “Jafza has a highly supportive network of business partners that works closely with to accommodate the business needs of over 6500 companies and 115,000 people. Our operations have grown increasingly multifaceted and these meetings help us maintain constant dialogue with our partners and identify dynamically changing business requirements so we can facilitate the growth of our clients better. Our event was fruitful in highlighting areas where we could jointly work together to simplify operational processes and build on our collective strengths.”

Representatives from DP World, Dubai Customs, Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Department of Economic Development (DED), Department of Naturalisation and Residency Dubai (DNRD), Dubai Police, RTA, Land Department, DEWA, Etisalat, Dubai Courts, Dubai Airport, CID, Post Office and Dubai Health Authority (DHA) attended the event.

The interactive discussions focused on numerous initiatives including the Dubai Logistics Corridor, how it could benefit companies doing business from Jafza and its future impact on the logistics and operations as a whole. The Corridor links the Jebel Ali port and Jafza to Al Maktoum International Airport.

Attending partners were also briefed on Jafza’s growing suite of electronic services. Recently Jafza has introduced a number of initiatives that have brought value-addition to customers, including support services such as the e-License, e-lease service, online service for payment of customer invoices.

Jafza’s various Government and business partners also been actively engaged in dialogue with Free Zone customers at the recent Customer Forums held at Jafza to address specific industry concerns. The first five forums were held for clients in the Logistics, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Automotive, and Machinery & Equipment Manufacturing and Consumer electronics sectors.
