[ ME NewsWire ]Shoeciti, a part of business conglomerate Jawad Business Group, celebrates its association with its newest star, talented New York-based urban artist Felipe Urteaga. Visitors were awe struck as they watched the artist at work as he created masterpiece of legendary basketball player, Michael Jordan, during an unforgettable two days at Shoeciti at Deira City Centre. The event also celebrates the launch of Felipe’s own Sickindividual collection at Shoeciti. Customers can take their pick from an array of signed posters and t-shirts that are available for sale.

Conceptualized and designed by Urteaga, Sickindividual is an exciting, unique, ready to wear range of t-shirts for men and women. Renowned for depicting surrealism, symbolism and psychedelic features, all designs are strongly influenced by today’s pop culture.

Born in Peru in 1985, Urteaga moved the same year with his family to Bahrain and spent his initial years here before moving back to Peru in 1990. After graduating with honors in animation at the School of Visual Arts, New York, he moved to Hollywood. At the prestigious Animation studios, he made his mark with his talent and quickly moved up to become a storyboard artist.

Commenting on the launch the designer said, “I am thankful to Jawad Business Group for their constant cooperation and assistance in making this dream a reality. We are glad to bring our designs to Dubai and are looking forward to seeing the response we receive. Through my designs, I work towards bringing the ideology, personality and lifestyle of legends out in an exceptional way on t-shirts which have been entirely conceptualized and designed by me. Legends from different walks of life like Albert Einstein, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mahatma Gandhi, David Bowie, Charlie Chaplin among others are my muses. Their lives fascinate me and I have tried to bring in various elements and parts of their lives in visuals through art. My art is an expression of our generations understanding of the people behind the legends.”

Each piece of Sickindividual art is painstakingly created after thorough research to effectively capture personalities, lifestyles and ideologies of some of the most prolific icons of our time; translating their legacies into one-of a-kind, colorful and intricate designs.

Through its designs, Sickindividual is consistently redefining the latest trends for men and women with their alternative and urban looks.

Urteaga will also enthrall the visitors by designing special t-shirts at the Shoeciti store.
