Tathqeef Celebrates Emirati Women’s Day With the ‘Veils of Pride’ Project

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Monday, August 29th 2016 [ME NewsWire]

In tandem with the UAE’s commemoration of the intrinsic role women play in the nation’s overall progress and stability, Tathqeef Health Treatment Undertakings Services celebrated the second annual Emirati Women’s Day on the 28th of August, with the launch of the ‘Veils of Pride’ project.

The initiative honours the veil as a symbol of pride and empowerment, by creatively showcasing the achievements and aspirations of modest yet modern Emirati women, through artistic expressions.

To do so, Tathqeef interviewed 8 inspiring women about their success stories and ambitions. Their life experiences and thoughts were then beautifully crafted, by artist Maher A. Housn, into a one-of-a-kind series of posters, each featuring an inspirational quote written in Arabic calligraphy forming the shape of their veil. The posters were showcased during a special event held on Emirati Women’s Day, at the Mozaiic Art Gallery in Souq Al Bahar, Dubai.

Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Ayesha Al Dhaheri, CEO of Tathqeef, said:

“Ever since the rise of our nation as a front-runner in the international arena, veiled Emirati women have accomplished a great deal of success across a wide spectrum of industries. As a matter of fact, Arab women wear their veils with pride and can pursue their dreams and realize whatever goals they set their minds to. The ‘Veils of Pride’ initiative is our way of celebrating Emirati Women’s day and demonstrating Tathqeef’s focus on constantly updating women’s knowledge and capabilities, while encouraging them to reach new heights”.

As an organization that was founded by successful Emirati women themselves, the ‘Veils of Pride’ project is an extra step taken by the founders to showcase, celebrate and encourage other successful Arab women.

All posters and videos of the ladies interviewed, in addition to other related art and material are available at www.veilsofpride.com. The website also features an interactive Veil Poster creator, where visitors can create their own calligraphy by filling in what their veil means to them, as an inspiring way to empower other women.

Founded through the awareness and expertise of the people behind it, ‘Tathqeef’ is a training and continuing education center for medical and health professionals that aims to help enhance their knowledge, capabilities and qualifications by providing intensive certified scientific workshops, seminars and trainings. Beyond health services, the Centre’s founders believe in the sharing of knowledge to help grow the country’s citizens into shining symbols of success.

The campaign was carried out by Tathqeef’s creative agency Grey Dubai, which is part of the global Grey Group network.
