Preparations are underway across Dubai’s financial centre as firms limber up for the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay 2022. The unique one-mile (1.6km) relay race is back after an almost two-year hiatus due to the global COVID-19 pandemic and will be hosted by the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) – the official venue partner – on Thursday, 9 February 2022.
The globally renowned team building corporate relay race, part of a global series of events that take place across major financial cities around the world, has played an important role in the health and wellbeing of Dubai’s business community since its inaugural race in 2016.
Incorporating a new time trial format to optimise the health and safety of all participants, teams of 10 runners will battle it out for the fastest cumulative time for 10 one-mile (1.6km) laps of the course, which weaves around the majestic and iconic DIFC Gate building.
James Hassett, Managing Director of Square Mile Sport, said: “Given the challenging past few years, we couldn’t be more enthusiastic about bringing this event back to life in the heart of Dubai’s financial district.

Top spots are up for grabs for the fastest overall team, female and mixed teams to be crowned champions and of course, win bragging rights as the fastest firms in the city.
Will reigning champions Emirates Steel reclaim the title of Fastest Firm in the City for the third year-in-a-row? Who can usurp JLL‘s title as the fastest Mixed Team? And can Petrofac retain their All-Female Team crown? Only time will tell.
Registration for a team of 10 runners includes race entry, event t-shirt and medal for each runner, plus admission to the after-party with live music and exceptional hospitality.
